So Happy 4th of July....it's now July 7th, time to move on. I can understand how much fun it is to light off fireworks on the 4th, but now that we live in city and for the fact that fireworks are legal in Missouri, we don't have to go blow a bunch of money on fireworks b/c everyone else around us is shooting theirs off, plus Raymore has some pretty nice fireworks. But my complaint tonight is for the fact that it is July 7th and the City of Raymore says it is illegal to shoot any type of firework off past midnight on the 4th. We've put up with the extra fireworks on thursday night and friday, then I heard more tonight around 8:30/9ish.....right when I'm trying to put Allison down for bed. She finally went down about 20 minutes ago.
However, after I put her down, I made a phone call....to the police department...their non-emergency number of course and made a noise complaint. So an officer came to our house and pretty much asked me what I wanted him to do about it....well duh!!! Enforce your law is what I want you to do. Go tell the hicks down the street that they can't, meaning it's illegal, shoot off anymore fireworks until July 1, 2008!!!!
The fireworks really aren't bugging me anymore, it's the officer that came to the house. "Well, what do you want me to do about it?" What a fricken jerk!!!! I could use other names, but I won't. Maybe if I buy him a dozen doughnuts he'll be nice to me and go tell the people to quit their fireworks. I wish I would have gotten the officers name, Chuck's upset about it too, b/c of the way the officer spoke to me!!!
I tell ya...these big city cops.......anyway, that's my venting for the night.
Hope everyone had a decent Saturday.

At least they came out...if I made that call in Minneapolis it would probably stay on the hotline and I wouldn't see anyone.
He didn't have to be rude though!
When I go to Burger King and order a Whopper I expect to get what I paid for, a Whopper. And when I call the police to enforce the law. I should get what I pay for, the law enforced.
