So Much Excitement!

I just have to express how excited I am today!!! Mom is coming down to visit tomorrow and will be staying a few days!! So happy that she is going to be able to take a few days away from the store and the farm to come visit us! I just love seeing my family!!! I don't mind the living 5-6 hours from them, but I can only go so long without seeing them! So usually we try to plan something every month, if not every month then at least every other.
However, the weather doesn't look like it will cooperate with us this week. So many chances of rain, but it will still be warm...upper 70s I believe. So not sure if we'll get to the zoo or not....that was one of my ideas for something to do during the day. We may just have to stay inside...maybe go to the mall!!! Even better, lol!
So yea, just wanted to share that, just wish that Dad and Katie could come down too. But Dad of course is busy with the store and the farm and I believe Katie has finals next week, so we better let her study hard.
And yes, then after my Mom leaves then Chuck's Mom will be down to visit over the weekend. Hopefully by then the sun is shining again as we plan on going to a Royals Baseball game on Saturday. She may bring her friend Mike down, not sure yet. But we'll be happy to see them also, last time we saw everyone was at Easter. So very anxious to see our Moms and I'm sure they are anxious to see us too.....especially Allison!
Okay well that's it for tonight, just wanted to share that!

Sunny Sunday

Today was a great sunny day, reached 80 I believe, maybe a lil bit warmer. Allison and I walked to church this morning, it's only a block and a half, so it's not that bad of a walk, plus I enjoyed the fresh air. Might become a new ritual every Sunday to walk when the weather is reasonable. Also a contribution to going GREEN. Anyway, Allison was very good during church, she even met an older man and his wife who sat next to us. Allison enjoyed playing with a hearing device that was around his neck (maybe controlled the volume to his hearing aid?). Such a curious little girl. Now normally we don't sit in the same spot more than once, but we may just sit in the same place next week. I enjoy meeting new people at church every Sunday! And I'm sure they enjoy Allison staring and smiling at them during worship!

We are looking forward to this week as Grandma Jenn is coming to visit for a few days and then Grandma Bonnie is planning on coming this Friday and staying the weekend. So some major spoiling will take place this week. Maybe I'll get spoiled this week too since I will be turning 23 on Wednesday! Oh Oh and then the 13th is Mother's Day! Can't wait for that! My first Mother's Day!! Maybe I'll get breakfast in bed??? :D I wish!

Okay well it's late now. hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather we had here in the midwest! Good Night!

Allison's First Baseball Game!!!!

So yesterday (Sunday) was Allison's first Major League Baseball game!!! The Royals played the Minnesota Twins and ended up winning 3 to 1. The Royals also won the series 2 games to 1. It was an exciting fan and Allison was very very alert when we arrived to the stadium. All the new sights, sounds, smells.....and tastes!!! (daddy put a lil bit of cotton candy on her lip, she didn't care for it) She almost had her hands on daddy's big stadium hot dog, but no luck! She ended up tuckering out around the 4 or 5th inning but then awoke in the 7th inning when the crowd let out a huge roar. We went to the game with Uncle Brett and his girlfriend Steph.

It was a bit breezy but the sun came out and no rain!!!

We ended up forgetting the camera at home...bummer!! But I snapped a few photos of Allison in her Royals atire!!!

Hope all had a great weekend!!!

Happy Weekend!!!

Was kind of a long day today, but fun for the most part. B/c it is Saturday we decided to load up and hit up some garage sales and also some book sales. We hit it pretty big with the book sales, and if we sell all the books we purchased we should make about $150, off of maybe.....30 books...bought most of them for like $.25/$.50, and there were a couple that we bought for a dollar or two. So...this will be my job for the most part, along with being a stay at home mom. We are hoping that we'll be able to provide some sort of 2nd income from our book sales. A few of Chuck's coworkers are doing rather well with it. One of them actually does the book hunt/sale as a full time job since she retired from CMH last year. So yea, hoping this will help us get along so we can pay off our vehicles a bit faster and possibly help out so we can get a great home loan!!! Pretty exciting.

Didn't really hit any good garage sales, found Allison's Halloween costume for this next year for $.25!!!! Great buy if you ask me!!! But don't ask what she'll be, you may just have to wait until October to find out!!!

It was a whopping 81 degrees here in Kansas City today. Excellent weather. We just came back in from the front yard. We planted some seeds that are suppose to form a Butterfly Garden, so hopefully in about 2 or 3 weeks we'll have a great variety of annuals and perrenials popping up along the front driveway. And if I'm lucky....I'll be able to see some butterflies come in for a landing. I didn't get into the dirt soon enough to plant any tulips, but I'm pretty sure they would have been killed off when we had that freezing cold weather about a week and a half ago.

So may have to go find something to plant along the front of the house, all that is there now is a pile of....weeds??? grass and dirt too!!! Oh MY!!!

Oh and for the count down.....39 days until we are off to Jamaica!!! However, we are still waiting for mine and Allison's passports, so hopefully they'll arrive soon. I'm expecting them to arrive in the mail the day before we leave! That way I'm all stressed out about not being able to go and yadda yadda yadda!!! But no worries, I'm sure we'll get them sooner than that, if not, I guess Chuck will be the only one going....along with the Groom (we are headed to Jamaica for a wedding) So I guess the Bride and I will just hang out here in Missouri!!

Okay so enough babbling, we've got a movie to watch!!! Hope everyone is enjoying their beautiful weekend!!!

Allison chillin in her carseat, doesn't she just look so relaxed??? I would too if I had someone tote me around all day, feed me and change my underpants!!! :D

Rain rain...I mean Snow Snow go away...

So last night we received about 3 to 4 inches of snow. Such a bummer....however the dogs are loving every minute of it, last night as it was snowing they were trying to catch some flakes....i think there were more flakes on their backs and heads than what got in there mouth.

Anyway, it's suppose to start warming up again this next week and hopefully this will be the last of the snow that we see until...November-ish.
Allison turned 6 months old yesterday....we treated her with a trip to the doctor for her check up and some shots. Felt so sorry for her, she cried and cried this time around....probably didn't help out that she was a bit hungry too. But after some milk and some cereal I think she was okay, she was smiling as we were driving to target to do some shopping....and when we were in Target, her Uncle Brett entertained her for the most part. I really can't believe it's been 6 months....we've enjoyed every moment that we spend with her....even the ones where she is cranky.
Her two bottom teeth are gradually becoming more visible and soon she'll be able to eat some crackers!!! Can't wait for that mess, hehe!
Anyway, She weighs 16.9 lbs and measures 26 1/2 inches long!!!!

Growing baby that's for sure!
Daddy and Allison.

doctors doctors and more doctors...

So this week is just full of visits to the doctors office, or some sort of medical office!! Wednesday was the Chiropractor followed by a trip to the family physician to get my foot/ankle checked out (long story) . But the good news is my foot/ankle is fine. More than likely just a major sprain. Today...today I go to get my annual physical!!! I would think any woman would dread this visit! You know what I mean!!! But it's a must for me, especially after having Allison, they just have to make sure everything is going well.
Anyway, so tomorrow is Allison's 6 month check up....yup that's right she turns 6 months old tomorrow!! Isn't that just...CRAZY!!! I really can't believe that she will be 6 months.
And to finish up the doctor visits, I am planning on making dentists appointments for Chuck and I for next week!!! WE badly need to get in and get our teeth cleaned and I need to finish having a tooth repaired that should have been done a long time ago!!!

So that finishes off the doctor list....so far!!!

Oh and I'm starting our countdown.....47 Days til we take off for sunny Jamaica!!!! SO excited!!!!!
Hope everyone is enjoying their Thursday. I hope to enjoy it after my dr. visit, with some shopping!!!

Happy Easter!!

Just a quick blog to say Happy Easter....He Is Risen!!! Hope all had a very joyful Easter Sunday. We attended church in LeMars with mom and dad today, then headed over to Newell for dinner at Grandma White's. Then after spending some time there with family we headed over to Fonda. We are here visiting Bonnie until Tuesday in the AM. Will try to head back before noon, so that way we don't get caught in all the rush hour traffic back home.
Again, hope you all had a very wonderful Easter!

It's finished!!!

So after giving it numerous coats of paint, even having to drive back to Lowes to get another can, and also buying some washers (the screws for the handles were too long) so that handles would fit, it's completed!!! I've sanded it down all over, some spots are a lil rougher, but I like that! Decided to just leave doors off for now, I agree with my cousin Jessica, it will be so much easier to be able to grab stuff. I've also thought about making it into a book shelf? Her collection of books keeps growing and growing, and we have no where and I mean no where to put them!! Her books are sitting in a corner in her room stacked about 2 foot high!!!

Okay so yea, it's done, maybe a few more touch up areas to do before moving it up to Allison's room, but that will have to wait until next week as we are headed to IOWA today for Easter weekend!!! I'm so excited to be going home to see everyone again. I really just wish my brother and his wife could be home too!!! They won't be coming home until June, so I guess I'll just have to wait!!

Okay so here's a few pictures for you!! I'd say Allison approves???

Our first "BIG" project....

Sooo, it's been really warm out the last couple weeks, going to be a cold week this week and into next, but anyways, the warm weather has really opened up the options of what to do on weekends....well....Allison and I go to all sorts of garage sales, mainly in search of gently used clothes/toys/still looking for a high chair, and much more. This past Saturday, we went up to Lee's Summit, about 20-25 minutes from our home to a garage sale that had some furniture. Bedding, sofa/love seats, chairs, dining room table (huge 12 person table) and bedroom sets and really old dressers. So I can upon a big dresser, 3 drawers and then a cabinet like thingy on top. And for those of you who remember, Grandma had (not sure if she still has it) an older Vanity in one of the bedrooms in the farmhouse. well I found one that pretty much looked exactly like it!!! However, they were asking $50 for each one, but then they said they'd take $50 for both the dresser and vanity. Well I couldn't decide so I called Chuck to see what he thought, I also saw a dresser (a longer one) that had a mirror, but it wasn't very sturdy and had a bunch of scratches, etc. So anyways, i had $38 in my pocket and my check book, but didn't really want to spend more than $38. Oh yea, I offered $38 for the dresser before they told me they'd take $50 for both items. So Chuck said to go ahead and get the dresser. So my mind kept a ticking, of how we could make it fit with Allison's furniture. You see, we don't really have a matching set of anything. Dad and Mom gave us the crib, we got a changing table and bassinet at a baby shower and then Dad and Mom also brought down this cute lil dresser for Allison.
So yea, to get to the point, it became our project all day yesterday! We headed to Lowe's in search of some paint or a finish that matches the dresser we already have. We took along a drawer of the dresser to see if they could match it! By golly, they sure matched it! But something really urked me about the guy that matched the paint....he had the guts to paint on the drawer!!! You can clearly see where the paint is, but luckily when it's in the dresser it is a bit harder to spot! But yea, who paints on someone elses furniture!?!?! We didn't ask him to!!!
Okay, sorry had to get that out! Anyways, so we got the paint and some new handles and knobs. So far we have decided we won't put the cabinet doors back on, not sure yet? INput maybe?? So yea, here are some before and after photos....keep in mind, we aren't completely done with it, I still have to put the handles on and possibly do one more coat!!!

Click on the "New Photos" link to the right to view more pictures of our project.

I'll post some new photos when it's completely done and up in Allison's room. I think we did such an awesome job on this, don't be surprised if this isn't the last project!!!

I like to eat, eat, eat Apples and Bananas...

Do you all remember that song at all?? Anyways, we haven't reached the apple stage yet, but we tried Bananas today and I just had to put a photo up of Allison's reaction! ENJOY!!!
Allison ended up really liking Bananas, just took a few tries to get use to the new taste! Click on my photos link to the side so you can see new photos of Allison.
