Happy Valentine's Day!!!

First off let me say....HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY Everyone!!!
Lots has happened since our last blog. Allison is now 4 months old....yesterday she met her 4 month marker. She sure is growing too. She weighs 14lbs 13oz and is 25 1/2 inches long!!!! She's gonna be a tall one! (we hope) She had her 4 month check up yesterday also and got another round of shots. She really doesn't enjoy them but got over the pain quickly. I think she was really startled by the first shot!

More news, we added another pet to our family. We adopted a Australian Shephard yesterday. He is 3 months old and i think we decided on Kirby for his name. Here is a link to our pictures so you can see him. http://picasaweb.google.com/palmer.chuck/TheDogs
He has something wrong with his hip....all b/c of me. :( I was playing with him at the pet store and he jumped up to try to get his toy, he slipped as he was coming back down and landed on his back. They say he has a sprained hip....we'll find out more tomorrow when I take him to the vet. If he needs surgery or anything of that sort, the petstore will pay all costs. So that was nice of them. We are very happy with him. Since we've had him....almost 24 hours he has only peed once in the house. Which is really good. He is very smart as he really knows that when we go outside he needs to go potty to get a treat. So it's been another blessing that he is catching on quick as i really have my hands full!!! But all is good!!! We can't wait for him to get well and for spring to arrive so we can teach him to play frisbee!!! I'll probably try to train him to be an agility dog, maybe we'll enter a few contests here and there. we'll see how it goes!!!

I am also on the lookout for any part time jobs available. I've been looking for daycare/school openings for toddlers as you don't need an education degree to get hired. Plus i could maybe get allison in, so that way I wouldn't have to find another daycare/sitter. But I guess grandpa and grandma palmers house will do too!

Well that's all I have for today!!! Again Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Forgot...

I forgot to add that we have spotted a woodpecker in our backyard. Still attempting to snap of photo of the guy as he or i guess could be a she, as IT is very very sensitive to any type of movement or sound. We'll keep you updated!!!

Staying warm

So it's just another day here in the Palmer household. It's not as "frigid" out as it was this past weekend, but it's still chilly. We reached the upper 50s on Tuesday. So that was a great feeling. Didn't wear a jacket when we went out to do some shopping, which would be really unusual if we were back in NW Iowa. My mother has said it's been below zero for quite some time, but I do think they are starting to warm up too, just nothing too dramatic.

It's really been a laid back week so far here. Chuck is on his 3rd day in a row off of work. He goes back tomorrow. On Tuesday and Wednesday night we headed over to his dad's house for dinner and games. We bought UNO Attack on Tuesday before heading over for dinner. We've decided that it is a pretty exciting game and can last a really and I mean really really long time if you have about 6 or 7 players! It turned out to be so much of an exciting night last night that we didn't get home until 11:30pm!!! What a late night. Allison stayed up the whole time...passing up her 9:30pm bedtime, but as soon as she was buckled into her carseat and in the truck, she was fast asleep. We are so happy to know that just a quick car ride for a few blocks can knock her out, haha.

We have really enjoyed doing game nights with the family. As it is very cheap, unless you go out and buy a new game everytime you have a game night. Plus we usually get a good meal out of it too!!! This also gives us the chance to relax a little and pass Lil Allison around for some fun time with the grandparents and her Aunts and Uncle.

Well, like I said not too much else going on. The snow is pretty much gone, the birds are eating birdseed from our feeders like they've been starving all winter, and we are craving a lil Chick-Fil-A (did i do that right). SO for the rest of afternoon, we are headed out for some fast food and to Target to do some quick grocery shopping, then it's back into our lil hermitcrab shell of a house to stay warm. Hope you are all doing the same!!!
